News in brief
 
The county’s emergency planning was put to the test today, Tuesday 11 October, in an exercise organised by Northamptonshire Local Resilience Forum. The exercise, which was held at police headquarters, involved staff and officers from Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service, the Environment Agency, military representatives, Anglian Water and the county, district and borough councils. Two men from Derbyshire have been arrested and bailed following the discovery of a large amount of cannabis at a distribution warehouse in Northamptonshire last month. Read more
 

Volunteer Cadets from Northamptonshire Police set off in their canoes on Saturday 1 October to raise money for Grace’s Fund. 12 cadets took part in the sponsored canoe trip from Northampton to Wellingborough, and they raised £300. Read more
